Missouri RTL Sponsors Pro-Life Billboard: “The Most Dangerous Place for An African American is in the Womb”

by | Apr 7, 2011

In order to expose the onslaught of abortion in Missouri’s African-American population, Missouri Right to Life and are sponsoring a billboard calling attention to this tragedy.  The billboard is located in St. Louis on Cass Avenue just one block east of Jefferson Avenue.

Pam Fichter, President of Missouri Right to Life, said that “the message on this billboard powerfully illustrates the tragedy of abortion in the black community.  The billboard reads, ‘The most dangerous place for an African-American is in the womb.  Over 37% of  Missouri abortions are performed on African-Americans who comprise 12% of  our (Missouri’s) population.’ ”

“Sadly,  these percentages reflect the abortion rate nationwide.  According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, over 14.5 million African American children have been aborted since the legalization of abortion on demand in 1973’s Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.  The fact is that more African American babies have been killed by abortion during the past
38 years than the total number of African American deaths from all other causes,” said Fichter.
