Today we wrap up a five-part series during which National Right to Life President and Pro-Life Perspective Host Carol Tobias has chatted in studio with Suzanne Schindler, sister of Terri Schindler Schiavo and co-executive director, with her brother, Bobby, of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.  Suzanne is sharing the latest efforts of the Life & Hope Network and the ongoing work to save patients like Terri from death by starvation & dehydration.

The first four parts centered on the struggle to ensure that no one else suffers Terri’s untimely, tragic, and unnecessary death; on locating “Safe Havens,” a network of hospitals and nursing homes that will adopt the Life & Hope Network’s mission statement, meaning they will not remove food and water to cause death; on “New Beginnings,” a one-of-a-kind facility in Medford, NY, which offers intense rehabilitation to patients just like Terri and even to patients who are in worse condition that Terri; and on “Terri’s Day,” which takes place on the anniversary of Terri’s death, March 31. (The formal designation is the “International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters.”)

Finishing up the week Mrs. Tobias and Suzanne share the exciting news that country music star Collin Raye has become the new national spokesman for the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.

Suzanne explained that Collin has a “personal tie to the issue.” His granddaughter Haley was born with a neurological issue. She lived with Collin through her short life. Near the end she was on a feeding tube which is partly why “this hits close to home for him.”

Haley died a week before the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Networks’ first concert at which he was scheduled to perform in April 2010. But the issue was so important to Collin he came.

The week ended with Mrs. Tobias asking for the latest news. Suzanne explained that Collin has recorded a new CD—“His Love Remains” which can be purchased at

Collin is also performing at a concert in Cincinnati on December 7 which you can learn about at
