All this week National Right to Life President and Pro-Life Perspective Host Carol Tobias has introduced us to the remarkable story of Melissa Ohden who spoke at the Prayer Breakfast at last summer’s annual National Right to Life Convention. If you missed any episodes, you can hear them at www.prolifeperspective.com.
Melissa shared with her audience the physical effects she underwent because of the abortion procedure she endured– what is called a saline infusion abortion—in August 1977.
As Mrs. Tobias explains,
“This type of abortion can be done once enough amniotic fluid is present. Essentially, a long needle injects a strong salt solution through the mother’s abdomen into the baby’s sac. The baby swallows this fluid and is poisoned by it. It also acts as a corrosive, burning off the outer layer of skin. It normally takes over an hour for the baby to die from this. Within 24 hours, labor will usually set in and the mother will give birth to a dead or dying baby.”
The remainder of today’s five-minute episode consists primarily of some of Melissa’s riveting insights offered to an awe-struck audience. They carry much more power if listened to, rather than summarized on page.
Mrs. Tobias reminds her audience that they can listen to the entire address–or any of the 70+ workshops and general sessions–by downloading an order form at www.stoptheabortionagenda.com/convention/files/2011%20Conv%20Recording%20Order%20Form.pdf.
She ends today’s broadcast with a reminder. “Please consider joining us for NRLC 2012 here in Washington, DC next June. 2012 will be a year of great challenges for the pro-life movement, and they are challenges we’ll face head-on; but only with your help.”
