Aaron Fitzpatrick, 19, has been arrested and charged with one count of murder in the death of Tiffany Gillespie, who was found Thursday in her South Philadelphia home. Ms. Gillespie, 24, had “told neighbors she was six months pregnant with either twins or another girl,” the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. “Another count of murder could be added depending on how long she had been pregnant, police said. The Medical Examiner’s Office will make that determination.”

Neighbors told the Inquirer that Gillespie had a preschool-age daughter and an 8-year-old son. The local CBS affiliate said Ms. Gillespie’s mother found her lying in her basement with a gunshot wound to the head. “They had been arguing over the last 24-hour period,” said Homicide Captain James Clark. “He was upset with the fact that she was pregnant with his baby and he killed her for that.”

Clark told reporters that based on the couples’ history of domestic disputes, Fitzpatrick was immediately a suspect.
