What’s Airing on Pro-Life Perspective Today? “Shopping for Life”

by | Mar 9, 2012

Today’s edition of Pro-Life Perspective will be particularly helpful to all the thousands of people who come to National Right to Life’s webpage at www.nrlc.org. After giving a brief summary of the many, many resources found there, National Right to Life President and Pro-Life Perspective Host Carol Tobias talks about a new quick way to access places in National Right to Life’s online library.

Recently National Right to Life teamed up with a company called ConnectionPlus to develop a toolbar plug-in to your internet browser.  Once downloaded, a toolbar appears across the top of your browser window that provides links to the most commonly accessed places in National Right to Life’s online library.  From factsheets to legislative action to press releases to fetal development – everything you would most commonly need for your own pro-life activism becomes just a click away. Regardless of what kind of computer you have or browser you use (be it Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, or even Google Chrome), the toolbar can be downloaded.

“That alone is enough to make the toolbar worth downloading,” Mrs. Tobias tells us at www.prolifeperspective.com, “but there’s an added component in which ConnectionPlus specializes.”

ConnectionPlus works to develop relationships with online retailers, allowing consumers to support their favorite causes simply by shopping online.  NRLC’s new toolbar allows you to do just that: shop online and support our ongoing work to save innocent human life.

Here’s how it works: in addition to providing direct links to the most important information available from National Right to Life, the toolbar contains a “shop” button.  When you click on it, you’re taken to the ConnectionPlus online mall.  From there, you can select a store, do your shopping, pay for your purchase and continue on with your day.

For each purchase you make from a retailer in the online mall, National Right to Life receives a percentage of your total purchase – with no added cost or hidden fees on your end.  The giveback percentages range from as low as 1% to as high as 8% or 9% depending on the retailer.  You can hover over the name of a retailer in the mall and a window will appear letting you know how much of your purchase is given back to National Right to Life.

What helps Connection Plus excel are the retailers– Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Dell, Office Depot, Family Christian Bookstores, Radio Shack, Lillian Vernon, At&T, DirectTV, and even travel sites like Hotwire are all available – and the list keeps going.  Mrs. Tobias explains that even if you don’t download the toolbar, you can still access the online mall and do your shopping.

You can learn about and sign up quickly at http://nrlc.cvn.org.

Mrs. Tobias said it all in her conclusion:

“One of our biggest jobs at National Right to Life is to make sure you have the tools and resources you need available at your fingertips. This new toolbar is another way to access those resources.”
