A Smorgasbord of Pro-Life Items

Mitt Romney

Each day the last item for National Right to Life News Today is traditionally brief (a tradition that will be honored here), and often combines several items. So to end the day, let me quickly mention four.

*Now that pro-life Rick Santorum has suspended his campaign, pro-life former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is picking up endorsements right and right. To name just a few, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey, and Florida Gov. Rick Scott.

* “This guy is about as bad as ever … as far as a candidate who opposes women’s rights,” NARAL CEO Nancy Keenan said last month. “The contrast between Obama and Romney will be stark.” Stark? To put it mildly!

* Courtesy of a relentlessly hysterical pro-abortion media offensive, pro-lifers are digging in deeper to counter the nonsense that life-affirming legislation represents a “war on women.”  On Thursday pro-lifers in Alabama will come together for a “Come Let Your Voices Be Heard” rally at the state capitol in Montgomery. They will be talking to legislators about an ultrasound bill and a measure to “opt out” so as not to subsidize abortions in the health care exchanges created by ObamaCare.

* Despite pro-abortion opposition, OCTOBER BABY continues to win over audiences nationwide. After debuting as the #8 movie in the country, as it enters its fourth weekend the film expands to 223 new screens.  According to its distributor

“Initially opening in a modest 390 theaters, grassroots support has fueled the film’s expansion. For opening weekend, groups in 70 communities where OCTOBER BABY wasn’t scheduled pre-purchased enough tickets to ensure local showings. And groups can still form to bring the movie to their towns.”

See for details and for a complete list of theater locations.
