Two abortion clinics in Hawaii are the latest examples of Planned Parenthood’s willingness to perform sex-selective abortions, according to undercover footage released today by Live Action. In its “Gendercide” project, Live Action had already released videos apparently showing Planned Parenthood clinics in Texas and New York as well as  two abortion clinics in Arizona affiliated with the National Abortion Federation, willing to perform sex-selective abortions.

Not only does the video show the counselors to be non-judgmental in their advice how best to procure a sex-selective abortion, one is shown offering suggestions how to get the state to pay for it. (You can view the 6:37 second video at As Live Action notes, “Planned Parenthood claims publicly to condemn sex-selective abortion but continues to provide the service.”

At the Maui Planned Parenthood clinic, the purportedly pregnant woman explains to the counselor that she wants to abort her unborn baby girl so she can become pregnant again to have a boy.

“If that’s, you know, if that’s what you wanna base your decision on–really–it’s up to you,”  the Maui Planned Parenthood counselor says. The counselor apparently advises the woman to be certain about the sex of her unborn child before going through with an abortion, telling her to seek an ultrasound from an OB/GYN and not to worry if they might judge a sex-selective abortion:

“This is your reason and this is your situation. So they should be accommodating because this can help you determine and it’s nobody’s business and nobody’s reason but yours,” according to Live Action’s transcription of the conversation.”

Live Action explains that in Honolulu, the Planned Parenthood counselor tells the woman that

“it is okay to have multiple abortions of girl pregnancies so long as the abortions are spaced far enough apart. The Planned Parenthood counselor suggests paying for the abortions using Hawaii’s QUEST state health insurance. ‘So if I wanted to terminate a girl the government would pay for it?’ asks the woman. ‘They don’t care,’ the Planned Parenthood counselor replies.”

Lila Rose, founder and President of Live Action, says “This latest footage shows Planned Parenthood’s abortion-first mentality deployed in the service of a search-and-destroy mission against pre-born girls.” She adds, “Sex-selective abortion is a prime example of how Planned Parenthood’s abortion empire is the real war on women. And in Hawaii and many other states, taxpaying Americans who are overwhelmingly opposed to sex-selective abortion foot the bill.”

Live Action’s series comes during a time period where a strong majority of  the United States House of Representatives voted in favor of a bill to make it unlawful to perform or coerce a sex-selection abortion, but not the two-thirds vote required under the fast-track procedure that was utilized.

“Shamefully, President Obama, and a minority of 168 House members, complied with the political demands of pro-abortion pressure groups, rather than defend the coerced women, and their unborn daughters, who are victimized by sex-selection abortions,” said NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson on the day of the May 31 vote.
