Moser’s unborn child had miraculously survived a bullet in Ms. Moser’s stomach but was miscarried when Ms. Mosher had further surgery on SaturdayThe tragedy for Ashley Moser, who lost her six-year-old daughter in the massacre at a Colorado movie theater, was compounded over the weekend when she lost her unborn baby.
Moser, who had been preparing to start nursing school, was shot multiple times including once in the abdomen. Initially her baby had miraculously survived the deadly assault at the Century 16 theater which claimed 12 lives and injured 58 others.
Moser’s parents issued a statement saying that she had undergone additional surgery for her injuries Saturday morning. “Tragically, the extreme trauma she sustained also caused a miscarriage,” the statement said.
Moser’s daughter, Veronica Moser-Sullivan, was the youngest person killed in the attack at a midnight showing of the new Batman movie in Aurora, Colorado.
Last Tuesday, another victim, Katie Medley, 21, a veterinary student, gave birth to baby Hugo Jackson Medley at the University of Colorado Hospital. Her husband, Caleb Medley, was shot in the face and remains in a medically-induced coma.
