The Democratic National Convention—Part One: Five Takeaways we can predict in advance

Pro-abortion Vice-President Joe Biden and Pro-abortion President Barack Obama

The Democratic National Convention begins tonight and by way of setting the table for what we can expect, National Right to Right to Life News Today is offering four stories about what amounts to a home cooked meal for the Abortion Establishment.

Even before the Democrats begin their three-days in Charlotte, North Carolina, we can confidentially write “five takeaways” just as we did after Republicans completed their three-days in Tampa, Florida. The “five takeaways” for pro-abortion President Barack Obama’s re-nomination convention would read something like…

1.Abortion? What “abortion”? We’re talking about “reproductive freedom.” Republicans are extremists.

2. Republicans hate women. In fact Republicans are waging a “war on women.” Republicans are extremists.

3. There can never be enough abortions—strike that—never enough “reproductive freedom.” Republicans are extremists.

4. ObamaCare is wonderful; let’s ignore that it was/is/and likely always will remain very unpopular. Republicans are extremists.

5. Opposition to “reproductive freedom” is part and parcel of the Republicans “war on women.” Did we mention Republicans are extremists?

Many of you probably have followed the excruciatingly embarrassing gaffe committed by various Democrats over the weekend (gaffes famously being defined as a chance admission of the truth). No question could have been more readily anticipated than “Are Americans better off than they were four years ago?” It’s been a staple asked of incumbents ever since Ronald Reagan first asked it in 1980 of President Jimmy Carter.

One famously responded, “No,” but with an explanation. Two others treated the question like a pilot trying to land on an aircraft carrier at night in a storm; they circled and circled and circled. Luckily for them they never had to reach the flight deck because they HAD no answer.

On abortion, as alluded to above, they are trying to fold the deaths of 1.2 million unborn babies each and every day into a larger narrative of alleged Republican insensitivity to—if not downright hostility toward—women. As always, pro-abortionists talk about anything but ripping tiny arms and legs from little torsos.

But, as we talk about in parts three and four, because Democrats in general, President Obama in particular carry their defense of unfettered abortion paid for by you and me to a new level, his protectors in the mainstream media will go out of their way to hide that the Democratic Party is wildly out of step with the American electorate. As former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich explained on “Meet the Press” Sunday, “If the news media spent as much time on the extremism of the Democrats as they spend trying to attack us, you would– they would not be able to adopt that plank [on abortion] this week” (See “The Democratic National Convention—Part Two: Placing abortion in ‘larger context’ allows Obama to evade his extremist position on abortion.”)

Please take time to read Parts Two, Three, and Four.
