Mitt Romney met with Dr. Billy Graham and his son, the Rev. Franklin Graham, October 11.

Billy Graham, who has been called America’s pastor, has taken out a full-page in today’s Wall Street Journal under the headline, “Vote Biblical Values, Tuesday November 6.”

The ad begins, “The legacy we leave behind for our children, grandchildren and this great nation is crucial. As I approach my 94th birthday, I realize this election could be my last.” With that sense of urgency, Dr. Graham tells us that it “vitally important to cast our ballots” for candidates “who base their decisions on biblical principles,” offering as one specific, candidates who “protect the sanctity of life. “

Last Thursday Dr. Graham met with Mitt Romney at his mountaintop retreat in Montreat, North Carolina, just as he did in 2010 with President Barack Obama and in 2008 with John McCain, when McCain was the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Following the 30-minute sit-down with Dr. Graham and his son, the Rev. Franklin Graham, Romney campaign spokesman Rick Gorka told reporters that Billy Graham led a prayer for the Romneys, saying “I’ll do all I can to help you. And you can quote me on that.”
