National Right to Life has endorsed Ted Cruz for election to the United States Senate from the state of Texas

National Right to Life is pleased to announce its endorsement of Ted Cruz for election to the United States Senate from the state of Texas.

“Ted Cruz has been a relentless fighter for the unborn and our God given right to life,” said Darla St. Martin, Co-Executive Director for National Right to Life Committee. “National Right to Life is proud to endorse Ted, and will stand firmly beside him in his efforts to protect life in the U.S. Senate. We encourage Texas voters to support him on Election Day.”

Ted Cruz (R) and Paul Sadler (D) are competing for an open seat being vacated by retiring Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R).

In Texas, Ted Cruz served as Solicitor General where he fought to protect innocent human life. Ted Cruz played a leading role in several important cases, including defense of the partial-birth abortion ban, parental consent laws, and prohibiting state funds from going to abortion. These cases have all been part of the ongoing effort to ensure that every child in America receives the protection and respect he or she deserves.

“I want to thank the National Right to Life Committee for their support and I share their passion for promoting a culture of life across Texas and across the country,” Cruz said. “Both in Washington and back home in Texas, [they] are on the front lines in the battle to save lives and repeal government healthcare mandates, and I will stand with them.”

In March 2010, Congress voted to enact President Obama’s pro-abortion health care law, which will provide government funding for insurance plans that pay for abortion on demand, and will result in the rationing of lifesaving treatments.

Ted Cruz is needed to reverse the abortion-expanding and rationing effects of that law.

Ted’s opponent, Paul Sadler, supports Obama’s pro-abortion, pro-rationing health care law, and he supports a policy of abortion on demand, which allows abortion for any reason.

All voters who are concerned with the right to life and with the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family should vote to send Ted Cruz to the U.S. Senate, so that he can continue to advance vital pro-life public policies.
