Well, it’s all over now. Meryl Streep, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Amy Poehler–among a “slew of film and television stars”–are touting a “Bill of Reproductive Rights” petition produced by The Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR). It’s part, we are told, of a new “Draw the Line” campaign which will feature “a star-studded series of ads,” according to the pro-abortion publication Mother Jones.

“The campaign does not target Republicans or the GOP by name, but its message clearly echoes the ‘war on women’ charge leveled at the right,” according to The Hill’s Elise Viebeck. Original as ever.

What explains the campaign, other than the chance for CRR to fundraise? It’s the usual diffuse hysteria –“the unprecedented number of new laws limiting abortion access passed in the last two years”—that “pushed CRR to launch its new campaign, president Nancy Northup told Mother Jones. “

And what will happen “when you sign our new Bill of Reproductive Rights,” according to the CRR? “[Y]ou’ll help us send a powerful message to lawmakers across the country that reproductive rights are fundamental rights and must be guaranteed and protected for all.”

Pro-lifers will deliver a much more powerful message November 6.
