My apologies for not getting to this earlier. I had received an email notice about the following several days ago but alas, it got lost in a blizzard of post-election emails.
As many of you know, November is National Adoption Month, the loving alternative to abortion.
The pro-life media company Heroic Media has partnered with Bethany Christian Services, the nation’s largest adoption agency, to produce a 30-second ad, “The Adoption Option,” that began airing this week on the Oxygen Network, a cable channel popular among women 18 to 34. The Oxygen Network is home to “I’m Having Their Baby,” a reality-TV program that follows women experiencing unplanned pregnancies as they go through the adoption process.
The ad begins with a young woman who says, “I’m pregnant but I am not in a position to care for this child.” The reminder of this tender ad explains why adoption is a win-win proposition for all. While the woman speaks, a web address [impregnant.org] and 24-hour helpline phone number [855-229-6853] flashes across the screen.
I’ve included below a portion of the press release sent out by Heroic Media.

Heroic Media, a pro-life organization that uses multimedia to present life-affirming resources to pregnant women, will today [Monday] release its newest video ‘The Adoption Option’ in honor of National Adoption Month.
Each year more than 6 million women become pregnant, almost half of which are unplanned pregnancies, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Heroic Media seeks to educate women facing unexpected pregnancies, particularly those in their 20s, regarding the benefits of adoption. According to the Guttmacher Institute, women in their 20s currently account for more than half of all abortions.
“Adoption is the overlooked option; less than 1 percent of women with unplanned pregnancies choose adoption, but for every adoptive baby there are 30 to 40 couples waiting to welcome the child into their family,” said Marissa Cope, Director of Marketing, Communications and Research at Heroic Media. “Most women don’t understand the feeling of empowerment adoption brings. We believe this video will alert women to a possibility they may not have yet considered and ultimately save the lives of unborn children.”
The ‘Adoption Option’ video, which is posted on Heroic Media’s website [heroicmedia.org] , YouTube [www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnKuUfZE11k&feature=plcp], and will air exclusively on the Oxygen Network beginning Monday, features a pregnant woman explaining why she plans to place her unborn child for adoption, stating adoption will give her baby a better life than she can provide.
Heroic Media has partnered with Bethany Christian Services, the nation’s largest adoption agency, to include a web address and 24/7 help-line phone number within the ad for women who would like more information or to speak with a counselor about adoption.
‘The Adoption Option’ ad will air on the Oxygen Network, home to “I’m Having Their Baby,” a reality-TV program that follows women experiencing unplanned pregnancies, as they go through the adoption process. The show is ranked 20th among all ad-supported cable entertainment networks in its key demographic of women 18-34, according to Nielsen.
Heroic Media aims to change the hearts and minds of women about abortion, using research-based television commercials, Internet ads, billboards and other forms of pro-life media. Just as with other key issues, professionally researched, produced and placed mass media has been shown in numerous states to change attitudes toward life and reduce abortions. Heroic Media uses mass media to impact culture on the life issue by offering women life-affirming resources. For additional information, visit heroicmedia.org.
