We’re almost there.  In some states, voting has been on-going for about a month, others will get their opportunity to vote beginning in a few hours.  For as close as the race seems to be, there could be a LONG line waiting to vote.

If you have not voted yet, please allow yourself enough time so that you can and do vote.  This race is too important to not make the time.

I am incredibly proud of right-to-lifers around the country.  While so many people go to games and movies and spend “quality time” at home, you have put the future of unborn children, the elderly, and those with disabilities at the top of your priority list.

Handing out literature, making phone calls, knocking on doors, helping with mailings, using your Facebook and Twitter accounts to spread the message, and so many other activities.  Many of you contributed to National Right to Life’s PAC and Victory Fund efforts so that literature could be printed, mailed, and distributed, phone calls could be made on a large scale, and radio spots could be aired.

You truly are amazing.

I am extremely optimistic about the outcome of these elections; I think pro-life candidates are going to do well.  Regardless of the outcome, I want to say thank you for everything you have done (and will do in these final days).  You have once again shown the love, the compassion, and the energized commitment to defending innocent human life for which this movement is known.

I want to remind you of the words of the late Fr. Richard John Neuhaus, spoken at the 2008 NRLC convention:

“We shall not weary, we shall not rest, until every unborn child is protected in law and welcomed in life.  We shall not weary, we shall not rest, until all the elderly who have run life’s course are protected against despair and abandonment, protected by the rule of law and the bonds of love.  We shall not weary, we shall not rest, until every young woman is given the help she needs to recognize the problem of pregnancy as the gift of life.  We shall not weary, we shall not rest, as we stand guard at the entrance gates and the exit gates of life, and at every step along way of life, bearing witness in word and deed to the dignity of the human person—of every human person.”

May God bless America.
