Pro-abortionist horrified by ghastly conditions at abortion clinic…horrified that it won’t be reopened!

Robert Alexander’s Women’s Medical Services

Inevitably, when I write posts with headlines such as “Never, never, ever enough abortions for NARAL,” (as I did yesterday), someone will gently write back that I am overstating the case. Well, as it happens I had also intended Thursday to write again about the now-closed the Muskegon, Michigan, abortion clinic but time got away from me.

How are the two related? That the latter demonstrates the former is true.

Almost every day we read something additional about how horrible the conditions were at  Robert Alexander’s Women’s Medical Services. Our last story included information gleaned from a report was able to obtain using the Freedom of Information Act. In case you missed the hideous list of infractions and threats to women’s health which explained the city’s cease and desist order:

  • Improper disposal of syringes and needles.
  • Unsterilized medical equipment
  • “Dumping of chemicals and other liquids down drains without proper authorization and approvals.”
  • “biohazard material and unsecured sharps throughout the building”
  • “multiple unsanitary medical instruments”
  • “blood on the floor and walls in multiple locations”
  • “uncovered buckets containing unknown fluids located in the operating room area”
  • “blood dripping from a sink p-trap in a room used by patients”
  • “multiple biohazard bags located on the floor and in closets”
  • “multiple unsecured containers containing used hypodermic needles”
  • “unsecured medications located throughout”
  • “All patient information was unsecured and scattered throughout the office portion of the business.”
  • “The ceiling tiles were rotten and water soaked due to a roof leak. There were buckets of water in multiple locations to catch the protruding water.”

But it gets worse. After the initial entry by patrol officers on December 26, a police detective reported seeing “dried bloody handprints on the ultrasound machine and smears and blood splatters on the walls and floors throughout the business,” according to reporter John Hausman reports.

How can anyone not be appalled, even pro-abortionists, right? And Robin Marty, writing at the blog, indeed was incensed.

But her wrath was not directed at the conditions at the abortion clinic, but at the “alarming tale of what the landscape of abortion access can look like in a state with a TRAP law in place.” (TRAP is pro-abortion lingo for any law that requires abortion clinics to be licensed, regularly inspected, and meet minimal standards.)

Her opinion piece is a horror story, alright, but not about blood all over the place, hypodermic needles in unsecured containers, and patient information casually strewn about the office. She is aghast that the “sole provider in a 100-mile radius” is closed because  Alexander has chosen (there’s that “choice” word again) not to make what Marty is convinced amount to cosmetic repairs.

And they call us “extremists”!
