This will be a very short post. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is our nation’s highest civilian honor. President Obama just issued the list of this year’s recipients one of whom is pro-abortion feminist icon Gloria Steinem.

Alphabetically, the 16 recipients range from Chicago Cubs great Ernie Banks to Oprah Winfrey.

President John F. Kennedy signed an Executive Order 50 years ago establishing the Presidential Medal of Freedom. On the White House webpage, we’re told the Medal is “presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”

To quote President Obama, “The Presidential Medal of Freedom goes to men and women who have dedicated their own lives to enriching ours. This year’s honorees have been blessed with extraordinary talent, but what sets them apart is their gift for sharing that talent with the world.”

Ironically, Steinem’s most famous stereotypical put-down of pro-lifers— “If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament”–was not uttered by Steinem who had an abortion at 22, but Florynce Kennedy, who was a lawyer for Ms. Steinem in the 1970s.

What irony. Steinem/Kennedy have been proven to be partially correct.

If we can conclude anything about the contemporary pro-abortion movement, it is that abortion HAS become a secular sacrament—to them!
