Another gigantic turnout for the annual March for Life

At noon today, temperatures of a brisk 5 degrees above zero notwithstanding, hundreds of thousands of bundled up pro-lifers will come together in our nation’s capital to remind America that we will not go away—under any circumstances—until Roe v. Wade is tossed into the dustbin of history.

We’ve been writing for weeks leading up to this, the 41st anniversary of the wretched Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions. The reception from our NRL News Today readers has been all we could have wanted, and more.

In addition to writing about the March for Life today, I’d like you to also know that as of this morning, the print version of National Right to Life News is coming back as a monthly PDF publication. You can read the entire January issue by clicking here.

Beyond what reading the issue does for you, the beauty of this format, of course, is that you can forward the entire issue, loaded with news and commentary, to your entire list of pro-life family and friends! And all for free.

Of course, the March for Life is by no means the only commemoration of Justice Harry Blackmun’s abomination. There have been rallies and marches all over the country, including today, many of them organized by National Right to Life state affiliates. The attendance, by all accounts, has been huge!

Back here in Washington, DC, last night members primarily from high school and college pro-life groups attended a Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. This morning the Verizon Center in Downtown DC was packed by 7:30 am with a rally organized by the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. There were also musical events at George Mason University and an overnight vigil at the National Shrine.

Here at the National Right to Life offices visitors will stream in prior to and after the march. A real highlight will be when for the sixth year in a row, Keep Infants with Down Syndrome (KIDS) will be meeting here from 11-12. The KIDS event brings together families who have children with Down syndrome and their friends, or anyone who wants to show support for the right to life of individuals with Down syndrome.

And of course, National Right to Life News Today will continue to be your Monday through Saturday go-to source for all things pro-life. (If you have not signed up for NRL News Today, please go to www.nrlc.org/mailinglist.)
