41yearsWe are now just six days away from the 41st anniversary of a decision that will forever live in infamy: Roe v. Wade. In addition to the hundreds of thousands who will assemble January 22 in Washington, DC, NRLC affiliates are gathering their loyal troops all over the country, often at the state capitals, to commemorate what dissenting Justice Byron White aptly described as “an exercise of raw judicial power.” (As an aside, I had completely forgotten that Justice White’s powerful remarks appeared in Roe’s companion case, Doe v. Bolton, although it applied to both cases.)

For some time now we’ve been running at least one post a day which directly relates to what the writer sees as the legacy of Roe or the impact it has had on his or her life. Yesterday’s story by Melissa Ohden—“A letter from an abortion survivor to her unborn baby”—was not only the most recent, but in many ways the most illuminating. Over the next eight days there will be many more.

I would like to give our great readers to share their feelings as well. We’ve done this in years past and the responses have been fabulous.

I know in advance the responses will be as diverse as the men and women, young and old who make up the greatest Movement for social justice of our time.

Please write me at to talk about “I am pro-life because….”
