StateofAbortionToday we complete the third of our three-part series on a resource that is invaluable to all pro-lifers: National Right to Life’s “The State of Abortion in the United States.”

The first two posts can be read at and And you can read the report for yourself at

NRLC President Carol Tobias’ introduction begins the 37-page overview. We’ve already looked at four of the major categories:

*Synopsis of U.S. Supreme Court Cases

*Public Opinion & Abortion

*Federal Legislation & Abortion

*State Laws & Abortion

So today will talk about

*Abortion in America: A look at the Numbers

*Planned Parenthood: The Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider

*SPECIAL REPORT: Obamacare’s Threat to the born

What do the abortion numbers tell us? Although the numbers are thankfully declining, the cumulative number of babies lost to abortion since Roe v. Wade is over 56 million. That is almost unimaginable tragedy.

“Abortion in America: A look at the Numbers” helps the reader understand why women choose abortion in the first place and why the number would be much larger if it were not for pro-life education, legislation, and women-helping centers.

“Planned Parenthood: The Nation’s Largest Abortion Provider” is the culmination of an enormous amount of research primarily by Randall K. O’Bannon, Ph.D., NRL Director of Education & Research. As much as you might think you know about PPFA and its annual 327,000+ abortions, in just two succinct pages Dr. O’Bannon helps you understand how integral abortion is to PPFA’s bottom line.

It is no accident, for example, that the national office mandated that every affiliate have at least one abortion performing center; that PPFA is fiercely promoting chemical abortions (and “Webcam” abortions which allow the abortionist to be in one location but talk women all over the state through a chemical abortion); building mega-clinics, and how in its roles as ObamaCare “navigators,” “in-person assisters,” or “certified applications counselors,” PPFA is will be able to channel more clients into its clinics and expand its abortion empire even further!

And then there is a very significant conclusion to “The State of Abortion in the United States”: a special report on “ObamaCare’s Threat to the Born.” In just a few pages, you learn how ObamaCare limits the right of Americans, if they so choose, to use even their own, private funds for health care to save their lives and those of their family members.

When you finish those three pages, you see the many complicated (and unpublicized) ways ObamaCare “authorizes Washington bureaucrats to create one uniform national standard of care that is designed to limit what private citizens are allowed to spend to save their own lives.”
