MCCL shares life at Minnesota State Fair

Sep 3, 2014

MNSFairMCCLboothreThe Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) booth at the Minnesota State Fair was a big success again this year, thanks to the dozens of volunteers who gave their time to share the pro-life message with many thousands of fairgoers throughout the 10-day event that ended Sept. 1. MCCL has presented the booth every year since 1970.

Located in the huge Grandstand Building, the pro-life booth was a popular destination for children, young people, pregnant couples and more. Thousands of people signed the pro-life petition to end state taxpayer funding of abortion. The booth’s fetal development video and “Thanks Mom for Life” buttons drew curious visitors, and the fetal models amazed people of all ages.

“We were pleased that many young gals were signing the petition,” wrote one volunteer. “People just loved to watch the video, and a few times we had people lined up to look at the fetal models,” wrote another.

As always, the fetal models were like magnets to passers-by, especially children. Many pregnant women stopped to look for the fetal model closest to the size of their unborn child.

One evening a woman with a pro-choice paper fan stopped by and collected two sets of literature about fetal development. “Welcome,” said a volunteer. “You’re pro-choice?” She admitted she was, but added that she had two pregnant nieces and wanted to share MCCL’s information about pregnancy and unborn babies with them. Such material was not available at the pro-abortion booth in the next aisle.

That’s the kind of influence the booth has had on people for more than four decades. Year after year, fairgoers are exposed to the truth about the humanity of the unborn child and the need to protect these little ones from the violence of abortion. Even MCCL’s huge sign, “Unborn babies can feel pain,” declares an unmistakable truth about what abortion does to living human beings.

MCCL is grateful to all those who supported the State Fair booth this year by donating or volunteering. They made this enormous, pro-life educational outreach to more than 1.8 million people possible!
