UN honors abortionist Parker who, never says “abortion”

Editor’s note. The following appears on the webpage of Right to Life of Michigan, NRLC’s state affiliate. For readers of NRL News Today, Parker is a familiar character.

We wrote about Parker last August. He had been profiled in Esquire magazine by John Richardson. “The Abortion Ministry of Dr. Willie Parker “ was a futile attempt to make a kind of saint out of a man who flies into Mississippi twice a month and performs as many as 45 abortions a day.

Parker consistently refers to himself as a Christian, which is odd on a number of grounds. Here’s just one.

We’re told that opposition to abortion, ultimately, “comes back to the early Judeo-Christian narratives that say the fall of man was caused by a woman, as Parker told Richardson. “That’s woven into our culture, and it has to be deconstructed at every level.” So at the end of Richardson’s story when Parker matter-of-factly points out the aborted baby’s skull and eyes and the beginnings of a spinal cord, somehow our nausea at this ultimate act of dehumanization is actually a reflection of how we blame Eve for everything?

So how did Parker get honored by The Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights? “OHCHR pays tribute to all the human rights defenders who helped to define this agenda, and who work tirelessly to defend women’s human rights and promote gender equality.”

The Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights at the United Nations has honored abortionist Willie Parker by featuring him in a video entitled “Reflections of Courage: Defending Human Rights for Women

What’s missing from the video and the web page is the word abortion. Parker never uses the word abortion despite being an abortionist and being featured in a video talking about what he does. Euphemisms like “reproductive health care,” “reproductive rights” and “the type of services I provide” are used instead. If committing abortions is such a great service to human rights, then why don’t the United Nations and Parker ever say “abortion” in the video?

For years, human rights have been a complete joke at the United Nations as serial human rights violators have been members of the United Nations Human Right Council.
