“Wantedness” ignores that the unborn is as equally human as the rest of us

by | Feb 5, 2015

Editor’s note: Last week we posted our annual request for responses from our readers to this question. What would you say to someone who is not hostile or belligerent (that’s a whole other topic) but who simply has never engaged the abortion issue directly?

What could be said out loud in one or two (at most three) minutes?

Periodically I will be running responses. If you would like to contribute, please email me at daveandrusko@gmail.com. Just to simplify matters, I will use the respondent’s first name and the initial of the last name.

The following is from Susan M.

unbornbaby8If I had to make the case for life in 30 to 60 seconds, I would show a picture of a preborn baby, capable of living outside the womb explain that it has brain cells, nerves, a heartbeat and then ask, why can a criminal be prosecuted if he kills a “wanted fetus” in utero, but if a mother has that same “fetus” aborted she is guiltless? The answer is simple. Both are human but only one is wanted.
