Notorious Michigan abortionist under fire again

Apr 1, 2015

abortionclinic347One of the last lines in a story about abortionist Abraham Hodari’s latest brush with the law is perhaps the most revealing. WJRT’s Jessica Dupnack wrote that “ABC12 News tried to track Hodari down, but couldn’t find him.”

What happened this time? A former abortion clinic, Feminine Health Care Clinic, owned by Hodari closed in 2013. According to the state of Michigan, patient “records need to be shredded, incinerated, electronically deleted, or disposed of in a manner that ensures continued confidentiality of patient’s health care information…”

Instead when he closed the clinic, near downtown Flint, Michigan, Hodari “abandoned hundreds of boxes filled with very private patient information,” Dupnack reported.

Dupnack talked to an unnamed pro-life activist who had gone into Feminine Health Care early in March.

“The door opened and for me, the rest is history. It was all right there,” she said.

She said when she looked inside, she saw hundreds of boxes of medical records, papers scattered all over the floor and piles of hypodermic needles.

“It was like ‘oh my gosh.’ I pulled out my cell phone, took video and left,” she said.

It’s believed all of these items were abandoned inside the clinic when it closed its doors.

“The Feminine Health Care Clinic was thrust into the national debate over abortion in 2009 after Caitlin Bruce filed a lawsuit claiming that the facility’s doctor, Abraham A. Hodari, held her down and forced her to have an abortion at the clinic when she was 18,” according to MLive. “Hodari’s attorney, Steve Weiss, said the doctor was well into the procedure when the teen expressed misgivings and he had to complete it ‘for her safety and well-being.’” The suit was eventually settled out of court.

According to Dupnack, the building changed hands in late March. “The new owners told ABC12 News that Hodari arranged to remove 573 boxes from the building.” She added, “If those medical records are not properly destroyed or stored in a safe place, he could face $10,000 in fines.”

Citing Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs records, Dupnack said Hodari is no longer licensed to practice as a physician.
