Gosnell Grand Jury Recommendation Is Now Law

Jul 15, 2015

Gosnell-ClosedThe grand jury in the Kermit Gosnell murder case did not simply lay out the case against the abortionist who became a serial killer in West Philadelphia.

In addition, grand jury members recommended some reforms which would prevent future Gosnells from operating in Pennsylvania.

If you will recall, many of the people employed by Gosnell had no medical background whatsoever. So it made sense that the grand jury would look to the legislature to crack down on those who try to fool the public by impersonating a doctor.

The Pennsylvania Senate and House responded by passing Senate Bill 485, which increases the penalty for impersonating a doctor in the Commonwealth. The crime will now be a first degree misdemeanor, after the Governor signed the legislation into law.

The measure, now known as Act 10 of 2015, had widespread support–even Pennsylvania’s pro-abortion Governor was willing to affix his signature to it.

Much more needs to be done to ensure that an abortionist such as Gosnell does not again wreak havoc on the populace, but this legislation is indeed a helpful step.
