Mar2016FrontcoverThanks to all of you who have been kind enough to write nice things about the digital edition of the March issue of National Right to Life News [].

Our readers count on NRL News Today to give them breaking news, but we held off the March edition of NRL News to make sure we could report on the latest in the race for President and (as it turned out) President Obama’s decision to nominate Merrick Garland to serve on the Supreme Court, replacing the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

That gave us a chance to reiterate National Right to Life’s position: the next justice should be nominated by the next President. And, by the way, yesterday we posted a story in which the Washington Post’s Fact Checker disagreed with Senate Democrats. At the conclusion of “Does the Senate have a constitutional responsibility to consider a Supreme Court nomination?” Glen Kessler gives the assertion “Three Pinocchios,” which means it has “Significant factual error and/or obvious contradictions.”

Back to the current NRL News. Talk about jam-packed! Lots of political news, as you would expect. Even more stories about important victories in states such as West Virginia, South Dakota, and Kentucky.

Naturally we wrote at considerable length about Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellersted, the case about which the Supreme Court heard oral arguments March 3. As you recall litigants are challenging components of Texas’ omnibus pro-life HB 2, passed in 2013.

Dr. Randall K. O’Bannon, NRLC director of education, dissected the pro-abortion case in a four-part series. He pointed out the flaws and the misrepresentations and the extrapolations the data did not support. A must read for pro-lifers.

We’ll talk more about the March digital edition next week. There is a lot to highlight. I hope you are already well into this wonderful issue which can access at

Have a great weekend.
