Cruz close against Clinton, head-to-head

The latest NBC News/ Wall Street Journal poll is, as they say, not an outlier. The favorable ratings for Hillary Clinton, Sen. Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump among 1,000 registered voters are stunningly low.
For the former Secretary of State, her net favorability rating is a minus 24 percent points: 32% favorable, 56% unfavorable.
Texas Sen. Cruz’s numbers is only one point better : a net favorability rating of minus 23 points: 26 % favorable versus 49% unfavorable.
Donald Trump’s numbers represent a “historic low for a major presidential candidate in the NBC/WSJ poll,” according to NBC deputy political director Carrie Dann. Just 24% of the respondents gave the billionaire entrepreneur a positive rating to 65% favorable–a net favorability of minus 41%.
In a hypothetical matchup, Mrs. Clinton defeats Mr. Trump by 11 points, 50% to 39%.

Pro-abortion Hillary Clinton
Against Sen. Cruz, Mrs. Clinton prevails by only 2 points, 46% to 44%.
What can be said, besides Trump’s thus-far ability to plow ahead in spite in negative views that range from 88% among Blacks through 75% for Millennials to 69% among women? (He is favored to do very well in tomorrow’s New York primary, as is Clinton.)

And, it’s worth considering that Cruz is less well known than either Clinton or Trump, meaning that he has room to grow — either positively or negatively — if and when he becomes the GOP nominee.
