When it comes to the issue of abortion, it has been exceedingly difficult to nail down specifics on Katie McGinty, the Democrats’ Senate challenger to incumbent pro-life Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.).

Sure, she is supported by the ultra-pro-abortion PAC, EMILY’s List. But what are her own views?

Her website declares she wants to “protect women’s health services.” Well, so do I—I mean, I want women to receive the best health care possible. Don’t you?

If you scroll through her site a bit, you do find her allegiance to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion operation, and her determination to see the abortion giant funded with our tax dollars. But still, her actual stands when it comes to specific life issues appeared vague.

Until now.

In an op-ed piece for the PhillyVoice, McGinty blows her cover as someone simply concerned with “women’s health.”

Under a headline that reads, “Katie McGinty: We must fight efforts in Pa. to restrict women’s access to health care,” the candidate goes on a rant against a common sense bill, House Bill 1948.

What would HB1948 do? It would ban brutal dismemberment abortions and change the legal cut-off for abortions in Pennsylvania from six months to five months.

In opposing HB 1948, McGinty demonstrates just how far she is from the mainstream on abortion and support for limits on it.

A statewide poll taken last year by Communication Concepts showed that a vast majority of Pennsylvanians support a ban on the dismemberment horror, in which a preborn baby is torn apart, limb by limb from her mother’s womb.

The poll specifically showed 64 % of Pennsylvania women support the ban. Obviously they do not consider it any encroachment on their rights.

A majority of people–Democrat and Republican alike—supported the ban, as did a majority of Independents.

McGinty is clearly in the minority in her views on this issue.

In her embrace of the continued practice of brutal dismemberment abortions, McGinty is siding with the Gosnells of the world.

Kermit Gosnell was the West Philadelphia abortionist who was ultimately convicted of murdering three full-term babies by severing their spinal cords after they were delivered alive and for causing the death of immigrant Karnamaya Mongar in a facility Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams described as a “House of Horrors.”

McGinty goes on to defend the disastrous U.S. Supreme Court ruling against a Texas law designed to ensure that abortion facilities meet reasonable health and safety standards. In this, she is siding with the wealthy abortion industry over the health of women.

We now know exactly where McGinty stands—side by side with abortionists, and against women victimized by the abortion lobby.

She is trying to unseat Senator Toomey who has a distinguished record of defending women against the harm inflicted by the abortion industry. For proof of Senator Toomey’s stellar voting record, please see National Right to Life’s score card here.

McGinty is not fighting for women’s health care. She is fighting for an industry which threatens the health of grown women while ending the lives of women in the womb.

Her own words now betray her.
