Just coming right out and saying it, Los Angeles Times reporter Steven Borowiec on Wednesday tweeted that he would like to “see Donald Trump’s life end.” The journalist deleted the item after receiving considerable blowback on Twitter.

The tweet was in response to a Time magazine item about “seeing Donald Trump’s life in photos.” The reporter responded, “I would rather see Donald Trump’s life end.” WTOP journalist Nick Lannelli caught the shocking comment and tweeted, “Really hope the @latimes understands that one of its journalists said this about @realDonaldTrump … before deleting the Tweet.”

Borowiec on Thursday tweeted, “I apologize for my Trump tweet. I meant it in jest.” According to the Washington Examiner, “A spokeswoman for the L.A. Times did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”
