In a letter sent to members of Congress, the National Right to Life Committee today urged members to vote “yes” on the American Health Care Act to repeal and replace portions of the Obama health care law (“Obamacare”).

Pro-life Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wi.) immediately tweeted out

The letter was sent by NRLC President Carol Tobias, NRLC Executive Director David N. O’Steen, Ph.D., and Jennifer Popik, JD, NRLC Legislative Director.

NRLC laid out the reasons why the nation’s largest single-issue grassroots pro-life organization “strongly supports” the measure. The letter lists four specific provisions included in the American Health Care Act as reported out by the Budget Committee on March 16 :

1. Prevents federal tax credits from being used for plans that pay for abortions

2. Preserves non-taxed employer-provided health plans

3. Postpones the so-called “Cadillac Tax”

4. Eliminates roughly 89% of federal Planned Parenthood funding for the next year.
