Woman brutalized by boyfriend when she refuses to abort and her sister is killed

Mar 9, 2017

Her baby son survives

An incredibly brutal story out of Nigeria. Stephen Luka stands accused of killing the sister of the woman carrying his baby and brutalizing the mother, according to reporter Aanu Adegun.

“Luka is currently facing charges of murder, attempted murder, assault and abuse at a Jos High Court,” Adegun reported. [Jos is a city in the Middle Belt of Nigeria.] Luka did not deny he was the father but denied he used a machete in a fit of rage after the sisters confronted them over the pregnancy.

Miraculously the baby boy survived. (The story says nothing about how old he was when he was born or how large.) His mother, Justina Dusu, lost her left eye and suffered other serious injuries to her body. Justina’s sister, Simi, died the night of the attack, July 27, 2016, at Luka’s home.

According to Adegun, the two sisters confronted Luka over Justina’s pregnancy. Luka “ suggested an abortion, an idea Justina and her sister flatly rejected. An angry Luka was said to have lost his cool and used a machete on both sisters…”

Justina told Adegun

“ I love my son very much. He has not done anything to me. He is innocent and I can’t hate him.

“I have put the past behind me. I don’t want to remember the horrible things that happened to me and my sister. When I look at my child, I feel happy.”

But while Justina said she had forgiven Luka for what he did to her and her sister, she said she and her family

“need justice. Justice must be served and he must be punished for his actions.

“He humiliated me and my family and I can’t take it. He must be punished,” she said.
