Leaders from National Right to Life were pleased to meet with and congratulate newly elected pro-life Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) at a reception in his office on the day he was sworn in. Estes won a special election in Kansas’ 4th Congressional District to replace pro-life Rep. Mike Pompeo (R).

The election was of particular interest to pro-lifers. It was the first of four special election that are the consequence of the victory of pro-life President Donald Trump who chose pro-life Republicans for positions in his administration. Pro-abortion organizations were desperate to “send a message” and were heavily invested in James Thompson, the pro-abortion Democrat.

The special election for the seat representing south-central Kansas was a clear-cut pro-life/pro-abortion contest.

Pro-life state Treasurer Ron Estes was endorsed by National Right to Life. The National Right to Life Victory Fund phoned nearly 20,000 pro-life voters in the district with information about the differences between pro-life Treasurer Ron Estes and pro-abortion attorney Jim Thompson (D) and to encourage them to vote pro-life. Sharable graphics and articles were posted in social media as well.

A special thank you goes to the pro-life voters in Kansas’ fourth congressional district for sending Ron Estes to Congress so that he can work in Congress with National Right to Life to advance vital pro-life public policies.
