Let’s imagine you are a coalition of pro-abortion groups angling for publicity for your “State of Our Union” counter –event to President Trump’s State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress. Where would you hold it?

Where else? The National Press Club, whose membership hates the President almost as much as does outgoing PPFA President Cecile Richards , who joined other “activists” in denouncing President Trump and the Republican Congress, in Washington, DC.

Writing for the Washington Times, Seth McLaughlin noted

Ms. Richards said the Trump administration and GOP lawmakers have tried to use “the power of the state to deny women health care” and “their right to an abortion.”

“All I can say is come for us and we are going to come back roaring twice as strong next time,” Ms. Richards said. “This is serious business because we have seen what happens when the power of the state is used against us.”

“If the government won’t change, we will change the government,” she said. “The good news is, like never before, women are the most powerful political force in this country.”

Of course, the assumption, demonstrably false as always, is that “women” are some sort of monolithic. Richards means, of course, pro-abortion women like herself.

Depending on your source, there was overwhelming approval of the President’s speech. CNN found 71% approval of President Trump’s speech. The results for CBS’s poll was even higher—75%.
