A thank you to those kind readers who emailed me at daveandrusko@gmail.com with their thoughts on the June digital edition of National Right to Life News. Nothing is more important than getting feedback.
For those who haven’t had the opportunity to dig into the 39-page issue of the “pro-life newspaper of record,” let me offer a few highlights.
We begin with an important article on page one—“Help make 2018 the ‘Year of the Pro-Life Woman’” – written by Karen Cross, National Right to Life Political Director. There is a great deal of media attention, and rightfully so, to the increase in the number of women running for political office. Unfortunately, for many in the media “women” means only “pro-abortion women.” Karen helps dispel that myth.
Also on page one and an editorial on page 2 we dissect the unfortunate decision by the AMA to continue to “study” the issue of physician-assisted suicide, rather than reaffirm its historic staunch opposition. We will keep you updated at National Right to Life News Today which sends out loads of information Monday through Saturday directly to your email.
Our president, Carol Tobias, provides a thoughtful look back at “50 Years of NRLC.” The largest and most effective single issue pro-life organization is celebrating a half-century of work on behalf of unborn children, children born with disabilities, and the medically vulnerable elderly.
And, of course, with Father’s Day arriving on June 17, there were several essays about men and abortion, including those men who were pillars of strength in and out of the abortion context.
As always there were life-affirming, spirit-lifting stories about the beauty of developing unborn life and accounts of parents who refused to abort because their little one was prenatally diagnosed with a medical difficulty.
And we were delighted to run a post about the pro-life accomplishments of t he first 500 days of the administration of pro-life President Donald Trump. It never hurts to remind ourselves both of what the President has accomplished (with more to come) and what we avoided by defeating militantly pro-abortion Hillary Clinton.
We’ll talk more about the issue later this week. Please be sure to read the June issue and pass stories along using your social media outlets.
