National Right to Life’s 50 Years of Defending Life: a Commemoration

by | Aug 28, 2018

Editor’s note. 2018 is the 50th anniversary of the National Right to Life Committee. As part of NRLC’s annual Yearbook, which was distributed to attendees at the NRLC convention in Overland, Kansas, there were many tributes to the most effective single-issue pro-life organization in America. Over the next several weeks, we will be posting many of those tributes in National Right to Life News Today and in National Right to Life News.

Steven W. Mosher, President, Population Research Institute

“I first became aware of the work of National Right to Life in 1983 when I came back to the U.S. from China. I was contacted by the Director of Legislative Affairs Douglas Johnson and asked if I would be willing to come to Washington and testify before Congress on China’s brutal one-child policy. I did, and thus began my 40-year collaboration with one of the world’s greatest pro-life organizations. Together we have worked to cut funding to the U.N. Population Fund, enforce the “Mexico City Policy,” and pass the ban on partial-birth abortion. And now, with the most pro-life president in American history in office, we are poised to put abortion on the road to ultimate extinction in the United States.

“Thanks to NRLC and its millions of supporters across the U.S. for making this possible.”
