Teaming up with Planned Parenthood to smear Judge Kavanaugh

by | Sep 11, 2018

Editor’s note. This was distributed today by Jamieson Weaver of Ohio Right to Life, NRLC’s staff affiliate. It is an important reminder of how significant the office of attorney general is in defending pro-life legislation.

State Auditor Dave Yost is the Republican candidate to replace pro-life Mike DeWine as Ohio attorney general

Last week, the Toledo Blade published an op-ed coauthored by pro-abortion candidate Steve Dettelbach, discussing pro-life Judge Brett Kavanaugh. You may be asking, who is Steve Dettelbach?

Steve Dettelbach is the Democratic candidate running for Attorney General. For this op-ed, he teamed up with a board member of Planned Parenthood to smear Judge Kavanaugh and herald the wonders of “choice.”

Dettelbach is radically pro-abortion. He has proved this not only through his op-ed, but also through the many emails he sends to his supporters, claiming “I am unmovable in my support of a woman’s right to make her own health care decision.” Here, Dettelbach makes a common mistake that many pro-abortion people make: he conflates killing a child in the womb with a woman’s health care decision.

Let’s be clear: Steve Dettelbach is radically pro-abortion.

You may be wondering why this is so important. I’ll cut to the chase: the next Attorney General in Ohio will be absolutely critical to whether or not Ohio’s pro-life progress is maintained. Over the last seven years, Ohio Right to Life has led the effort to ensure 20 pro-life initiatives were signed into law. As Attorney General, Mike DeWine has fiercely defended our pro-life laws in federal court during the past seven years. Thanks to his pro-life advocacy, Ohio has seen a 25% decrease in abortion in that same time period!

If Steve Dettelbach becomes Attorney General of Ohio, he will do everything in his power to make sure that all the pro-life progress we’ve achieved in Ohio is destroyed. We can’t let that happen.

The November 6 election is fast approaching. Are you registered to vote? If you’re not sure, check here. Do you know who your pro-life candidates are? Visit the Ohio Right to Life PAC website to view, download, and share ballot cards, endorsements, and comparison pieces. Make sure to be engaged this fall. Thousands of vulnerable Ohioans’ lives depend on it.
