Abortion Pill Reversal and How To Help

by | Mar 11, 2019

By Kansans for Life (KFL)

Women who regret the decision to begin a medical abortion still have a narrow window of opportunity to reverse it. The Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) protocol must be started within 72 hours of taking mifepristone, the first of two drugs. The sooner the woman’s system is flooded with progesterone, the greater the likelihood the baby can be saved.

Pregnancy resource centers, pro-life advocacy groups, and friends and family of such women should be prepared to direct them to APR resources, which can be reached at:

  • (The first result when “abortion pill reversal” is searched on a search engine.) Support is available 24/7 on the website, and the network can connect a woman within minutes to a physician who can start her on progesterone within minutes or hours, depending on her location.
  • 877-558-0333 This is a 24/7 hotline where the network can also immediately connect a woman with a provider to start the progesterone protocol.
  • A Closer Look at the Chemical Abortion Pill. This documentary is a video that can be viewed and shared online. Spreading the word is often times the largest challenge of them all. But making this common knowledge will help.
  • Contact your state representatives in support of the Abortion Pill Reversal Informed Consent Legislation. Planned Parenthood is activating their supporters to fight this vital legislation that requires abortion facilities to disclose to a woman that the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol is available, where to go, and that it is timely to initiate. HB 2274 is currently being worked in committee. (The parallel Senate bill is still pending.) Click the button at the bottom to contact your representative.

There are several physicians in Kansas affiliated with the Abortion Pill Reversal network, and because a provider’s prescriptive authority is backed by his or her state medical license, the protocol can be started virtually anywhere in the state as soon as the provider can call or electronically submit a prescription to a local pharmacy.

KFL will be sharing more information about Abortion Pill Reversal and the Abortion Pill Reversal Informed Consent legislation. Keep informed and share with others! We want everyone to know that this life saving protocol is available!
