I hope you had a wonderful Christmas season, spending time with family and friends, and making memories you will cherish for many years. And I hope you have a wonderful new year.
Many people start off the new year with a resolution. I resolve to… exercise more, eat less, spend more time with loved ones, clean out that closet…whatever it may be.
I know pro-life people are already active with family and friends and are involved in their churches and communities. And I know from hearts changed and legislation passed that you are influencing your counties and states. Abortion numbers are at their lowest annual level since Roe v. Wade was handed down. That’s great news, but almost 900,000 babies are still dying every year.
It may be a bit much to ask for more but let’s all (including me!) resolve to do even more to make a difference for Life this year. This will be an intense year culminating in critical elections. If ever there was a time to extend ourselves, 2020 is the year.
Rev. Edward Everett Hale was quite famous as a man of many talents whose career spanned the mid-19th Century through the early 20th Century. He became Chaplain of the United States Senate in 1903.
One of Hale’s more famous quotes says:
I am only one, But still I am one.
I cannot do everything, But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.
Each of us can do something to aid the greatest movement for social justice of our time. And because our consciences have been pricked and our hearts softened by the plight of the little ones, we cannot refuse to do whatever that “something” is.
As we enter a new year, let us never forget the ultimate “least among us,” the unborn child, and let us vow to “do something.” If you have friends, family members, and neighbors who are pro-life but not as active as they could be, get them involved. This year is an “all hands on deck” kind of year.
Check out our website at nrlc.org and our daily Nationalrighttolifenews.org to see what you can do. We have invaluable information on pro-life issues and legislation. You will find ways to get involved and stay informed.
We need you, but more importantly, the babies need you.
Happy New Year to one and all!
