When you opened your inbox this morning, you saw that you’ve received the January digital edition of National Right to Life News, “the pro-life newspaper of record.” Thanks to all the contributors who made the 47-page issue must reading.

Our lead story, “Showdown brewing on campaign to air-drop 1972 “Equal Rights Amendment” into U.S. Constitution,” provides the most up-to-date information on the attempt by pro-abortion House Democrats to retroactively nullify the deadline for ratification of the ERA. As Douglas Johnson, NRL Senior Policy Advisor explained, “Pro-abortion advocates have been unable to accomplish their goal by the amendment process provided in Article V of the Constitution – their proposal expired unratified 40 years ago — so they are attempting to accomplish it through a brazen political campaign, dressed up in legal terminology.”

The issue is chock-full of the latest stories that cover the issues most important to pro-lifers. With the Democrats’ latest debate scheduled for tonight in Des Moines—the last debate before the February 3rd first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses—NRL Political Director Karen Cross provides an important update on the six Democrat presidential aspirants who will be on stage tonight as well as other similarly pro-abortion candidates who did not qualify for the 9-11 debate hosted by The Des Moines Register and CNN.

In a similar vein, NRLC President Carol Tobias asks us, “Are We Ready for the Super Bowl of Politics?” Mrs. Tobias’ column appears on page three.

Among the most heart-warming posts is “Perspectives from a newly made Lita” by Ingrid Duran, Director of NRLC’s Department of State Legislation. Ingrid is a first-time grandmother (“Lita” is grandmother in Spanish) and you will love every loving detail in her story found on page six about grandson Theo Amadeus.

We will talk about the January issue more later this week. You can count on the latest developments in the Louisiana abortion case the Supreme Court will hear this session (pages 9 and33); Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report (page 12); the Top Ten most popular NRL News Today stories from 2019 (page 26); multiple stories about Abortion Pill Reversal (pages 18 and 27), to name just a few.

Please take a few minutes each day to read stories from the January digital edition of National Right to Life News and pass them along to friends. Also, do send me any thoughts on the contents.
