“Children Are Being Slaughtered Down The Road, What Are You Doing About It?”: Youth Mobilized At SPUC Conference

Mar 12, 2020

Young pro-life people in the UK have been urged to mobilize at the 2020 SPUC Youth conference where they were told to become more pro-active in the pro-life battle.

By SPUC—the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children

140 Delegates recently attended the annual SPUC youth conference. International and leading national speakers and dynamic workshop leaders joined in the message: Be bold and be active pro-life campaigners.

“We Need To Take Action”

Eden Linton, SPUC Youth and Education Officer

Speaking at the conference, Eden Linton, SPUC Youth and Education Officer, delivered the closing presentation to delegates. She said: “We need to take action and it’s up to every single one of you to decide who you are going to be and what legacy you are going to leave behind.

“You need to take this message seriously and implement it in every single thing you do in your daily lives. Wake up. Children are being slaughtered down the road from you- what are you doing about it?

“Get involved. Organise events. If you aren’t a leader, identify one and help them lead this movement. Leave helpline cards in public places, mention your activities to friends and colleagues, start conversations, invite friends to events, share content on social media. Do something! Because until every single one of you becomes an anti-abortion activist, children will not stop being brutally killed under the false label of choice.

“I hope you have all been sufficiently inspired and if not, get out there, feel the fear and do it anyway.”

A Rise In Pro-Life Youth Activism?

The presence of pro-life youth activism in the UK is growing.

Earlier this year, SPUC reported on the rise of student led pro-life societies causing alarm amongst pro-abortion campaigners.

In 2018, only eight university pro-life societies existed in the UK. This number has increased to 16 pro-life societies now present on UK campuses. Five of these are in Scotland.
