Almost all Conservatives and many Liberals believe some media members want a prolonged shutdown to hurt President Trump

The conclusion is not surprising. The breadth of the agreement is.

Earlier today, the Media Research Center (MRC) in coordination with McLaughlin & Associates “released the findings of a new poll examining likely voters’ attitudes toward media coverage of the coronavirus shutdown and President Trump.”

This is an important survey because it was taken of 1,000 likely voters.

Are you surprised that 85% of self-identified conservatives “believed some members of the media would like to see the shutdown drag on so that it hurts President Trump’s chances of reelection in November”? No.

What about 41% of self-identified liberals?

As polarized as political opinion is, I was surprised.

Altogether, it means that a whopping 60% of likely voters are in agreement.

The only commonsense explanation is that the behavior of some members of the media is so over-the-top that even many people who are not fans of Donald Trump agreed they had an agenda.

“This is just more evidence of how at odds the American liberal media are with the American public,” said MRC President Brent Bozell. “Honest journalism has been replaced with leftist advocacy. Even in these divisive times, both conservatives and liberals can agree on one thing: the media have it out for President Trump.”
