National Right to Life endorses Tenney and Phillips in NY 22 Primary

WASHINGTON – National Right to Life has endorsed former Rep. Claudia Tenney and George Phillips in the June 23 Republican primary election to the U.S. House of Representatives, to represent the 22nd Congressional District of New York.

Former Rep. Claudia Tenney has a 100% pro-life voting record during her term in Congress. George Phillips was a former board member for New York State Right to Life. Both Claudia Tenney and George Phillips oppose abortion on demand, and they oppose using tax dollars to pay for abortion.

Both candidates would vote for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would require that a baby born alive during an abortion be afforded the same degree of care that would apply to any other child at the same gestational age.

Both candidates would vote for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation to protect unborn children at 20 weeks, when the unborn child can feel pain.

The winner of the June 23 primary will challenge pro-abortion Rep. Anthony Brindisi (D), who supports a policy of abortion on demand even through birth, as well as using taxpayer dollars for abortion.

“Anthony Brindisi has a zero percent record on life,” said Karen Cross, political director for National Right to Life. “Citizens in New York’s 22nd district deserve a pro-life representative. Claudia Tenney and George Phillips are strong advocates for life, and would work to protect the most vulnerable members of the human family – those who are yet to be born, the medically dependent, and persons with disabilities, whose lives are threatened by abortion or euthanasia.”
