As we have for the last week and a half, each day as we approach November 3rd, we’ll be taking a look back at what we wrote at a comparable point in time in 2016—in this case, October 29, 10 days from the November 8th General Election.
The headline read, “Awash in abortion promotion, Clinton is tone deaf to the meaning of her own words.” It could easily be said of Joe Biden, this year’s pro-abortion standard bearer for the Democrats, who never misses the opportunity to tell us he is a “faithful Catholic.”
Okay, I grant you, if you go back and Google these few sentences, you will see that pro-abortion maven Hillary Clinton has repeated them ad infinitum.
But it takes on added irony/sadness/hypocrisy when Clinton is standing in front of the Trifecta of Death–PPFA President Cecile Richards, NARAL President Ilyse Hogue, and Stephanie Schriock, president of the high-octane EMILY’s List, a PAC which supports only militantly pro-abortion Democratic women.
In front of this trio, whose organization’s political arms are pouring tens of millions of dollars into her presidential campaign, here’s what Clinton said in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“I started my career, all those years ago, fighting for kids and families. That’s been the cause of my life. It will be the mission of my presidency.
“I will get up every single day in the White House saying, ‘What am I going to do to help every single person, and especially every child in this country, have the chance to live up to his or her God-given potential?’”
If she was President, I believe Clinton’s mission statement would be considerably different.
For example, she would get up every single day vowing to appoint justices to the Supreme Court who would erect an impenetrable shield about Roe v. Wade for at least a decade.
Along with her toast and jam, every single day, she’d plot with the likes of Richards, Hogue, and Schriock to undo the 40-year consensus that the pocketbooks of Americans would not be filched to pay for abortions.
Besides, honoring the consciences of the “deplorables” is so 1980s-ish.
And as she walked out the door and into the Oval Office, a President Clinton would be comforted knowing that the number of abortions–which have been coming down for years–could well spike up again, thanks to the ingenuity of women like Richards, Hogue, Schriock…and herself.
No more of this rubbish about abortion “safe, legal and rare.”
More abortions every day, here and abroad.
Their “God-given potential”? They’ll let God worry about that.
