NRL News Today looks back at where we were 5 days prior to the 2016 presidential election: Trump closing in

As we have for two weeks, each day we are re-posting and/or updating a story that ran in NRL News Today the equivalent number of days prior to the 2016 elections—in this case November 3 — to give you a sense of where we were then and where we are today.

That 2016  headline is uncannily similar to what we have been reporting regularly the last month these past few weeks:Trump’s numbers rising in key ‘swing state’ five days from the elections.”

Here’s the first paragraph from that November 3, 2016, story:

If there’s anything we can say for certain–besides that pro-life Donald Trump is closing fast on pro-abortion Hillary Clinton–it is that whatever we say today could easily be upended by developments later in the evening. Here’s the latest as of Thursday afternoon, five days before Election Day.

Is that ever true— on October 29, 2020, just as it was on November 3, 2016—five days before the General Election. The numbers are changing daily and virtually all in the right direction.

As we write elsewhere today, President Trump continues to narrow the margin in key states, such as Pennsylvania and Michigan and Minnesota, to name just three. The Trafalgar  Group, in fact, has President Trump ahead in Pennsylvania and close in Michigan and Minnesota [as does Survey USA].

It’s getting really interesting!

Don’t forget to vote—and to encourage your pro-life family and friends to do likewise.
