Planned Parenthood looking for payoff for its support of Biden/Harris

Let’s assume, for the sake of discussion, that Planned Parenthood’s political arms really did undertake a “record-breaking $45M Campaign Push,” as a headline to a story in a December 4th Newsweek declared. Certainly it’s plausible: the Abortion Industry seemingly has access to unlimited resources.

So what pound of flesh, figuratively and literally, does it want?  Specifically, what  does the organization that slaughters 345,000 babies a year want from a Joe Biden/Kamala Harris administration? Let’s see what Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood, said to Alexandra Hutzler.

To grease the skids, PPFA “is working closely with the Biden-Harris transition team to ensure they’re ‘ready to hit the ground running day one.’” So….“”The first thing we would like to see would be an executive order on day one, within the first 100 days, that demonstrates the administration’s commitment to sexual and reproductive health care,” Johnson said.”

To wit (we’ll translate out of Abortionspeak momentarily)

Planned Parenthood wants to see Biden immediately eliminate the global “gag rule” expanded under Trump that prevents foreign organizations receiving U.S. global health assistance from providing information or services for legal abortion, as well as restoring funding for Title X Family Planning Program. The president-elect has expressed support for these policies, which can be implemented through executive action.

In conversational English, Planned Parenthood wants no strings attached to U.S. overseas funding—no requirement that recipients refrain from promoting abortion or undermining the laws of sovereign nations, for example.

At home, PPFA wants unfettered access to federal dollars. None of this stuff about Title X recipients actually limiting themselves to family planning. No, PPFA wants recipients to be able to co-locate with abortion clinics and refer “clients” for abortion as a matter of “family planning.”

But Johnson is clear that it’s not enough for Biden to reverse the Trump administration’s  “Protect Life Rule.” Not nearly enough. PPFA wants to more than triple the money. It is

looking for his administration to strengthen the Title X program in the budget. The Blueprint for Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice, a policy agenda developed by a coalition of reproductive health and justice organizations, of which Planned Parenthood is a part, estimates the needed amount at $954 million. The program usually receives $280 million annually.

And, of course, PPFA and its phalanx of allies, has shouted loud and clear they want the Hyde Amendment ended. Before it was enacted, over 300,000 abortions were paid for by the taxpayer each and every year. Conservatively, the Hyde Amendment has saved two million lives!

We’ve already discussed how Biden/Harris are welcoming members of the Abortion Lobby with open arms. (As noted above, the Newsweek story appeared December 4th). “We know that personnel is policy,” Johnson said. “So we’re making sure that those positions are filled with sexual and reproductive health champions.” So, they’re already getting this demand met.

Many of these anti-life proposals can be done by executive order or in the course of choosing personnel. But there is much, much else the Abortion Lobby wants, which would be within its grasp if the two Republican senators were to lose their run-off elections January 5th in Georgia.

We cannot allow pro-life stalwarts Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David  Perdue to lose.
