What a Biden administration would look like: pro-abortion political extremists everywhere

by | Dec 15, 2020

By Dave Andrusko

Unfortunately, an editorial appearing in the National Catholic Register will need to be updated every few days. Under the headline, “Biden’s Pro-Abortion ‘Mafia’” we’re told in the summary subhead, “Joe Biden is in the process of assembling a collective of pro-abortion political extremists.”

This editorial was dated December 11 and, of course, begins with “Biden’s incendiary Dec. 7 announcement that he wants California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to serve as his secretary of Health and Human Services.” But before we can even talk about Becerra et al., there is the Reuters “exclusive” today that Biden had tapped pro-abortion Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, to lead the U.S. Transportation Department.

Buttigieg will fit right in with Biden’s pro-abortion “mafia.” As Paul Stark wrote for us in September 2019, back when Buttigieg was running for President,

When asked if there should be any limits on abortion, Buttigieg responded: “No, I think the dialogue has gotten so caught up on where you draw the line, that we’ve gotten away from the fundamental question of who gets to draw the line, and I trust women to draw the line when it’s their life.”

In another interview, he expressed the same idea: “No matter what you think about the cosmic question of how life begins, most Americans can get on board with the idea of, ‘I might draw the here. You might draw the line there.’ The most important thing is the person who should be drawing the line is the woman making the decision

Back to the National Catholic Register editorial…

We’ve written several times about Becerra, a former California congressman and the state’s attorney general. As did we, the NCR editorial talks about Becerra’s crusade against Pregnancy Help Centers, his contempt for freedom of conscience, and the full-bore persecution of David Daleiden, who exposed Planned Parenthood’s involvement in selling tissues and organs from the bodies of aborted babies.

It needs to be noted that, like Joe Biden himself, Becerra is a Catholic who advertises his religious faith in the political realm: During the 2020 election campaign, he served as one of the co-chairs of “Catholics for Biden,” a team that appeared to have been assembled largely for the purpose of deflecting attention away from the fact that Biden himself has abandoned any pretense of conforming with Church teaching regarding the sanctity of human life in the womb.

Then there are the selections of Antony Blinken as secretary of state and Linda Thomas-Greenfield as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.  They

were hailed in a Planned Parenthood press release as “Biden’s Choices to Lead Fight for Reproductive Rights Across the Globe.” Indeed, it’s clear a central Biden foreign-policy priority will be to revert American engagement with international institutions back to the implacably pro-abortion stance that was the hallmark of the preceding Obama and Clinton Democratic presidencies.

One more example from the NCR editorial:

Then there is the nomination of Neera Tanden as director of the Office of Management and Budget. As noted by the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, Tanden is a long-standing abortion-rights activist who was a staffer for Hillary Clinton, dating back to when Clinton was first lady. During the Obama administration, she played a central role in crafting the objectionable HHS mandate. In that context, in 2016, she sent an email to Clinton castigating Catholic leaders for their alleged “misogyny” in objecting to the Obamacare mandate.

Of course, of all the many distortions, omissions, and lies the press printed for free for the Biden candidacy, none was more egregious than the absurd notion that Biden was a “moderate.”

Nothing puts that lie to rest more than his eager selection of rabid pro-abortionists.
