Two “abortion doulas” write pro-abortion book for children

As we all too sadly know, there is nothing pro-abortionists are content to leave undefiled, starting with befouling the most fundamental bond in human culture, that between a mother and her unborn child.

So why should we surprised when Katie Yoder tells us that two “abortion doulas” (Carly Manes and ‘Mar’) have a goal of “giving a copy to every abortion facility and donating 300 copies to libraries.”

A copy of what? “What’s an Abortion, Anyway?” which the authors innocently describe as a “nonjudgmental book about abortion for children.”

Hmm. Off to their webpage where (under the headline “Why is this book important and who is behind it?”) we read they are filling a void (at least in their minds) in two senses. First,

To our knowledge, there are currently no published books in the US that use the word “abortion” for children under the age of 13.

As you’ll discover in the book’s text, the language used is devoid of gender or a traditional narrative arc due to the expansive, complex nature of abortion care. To use a traditional narrative arc would be to erase the millions of individual stories and reasons that people seek abortion care. It is important to us that this book does not perpetuate the ideology that there “good” reasons or “bad” reasons to have an abortion.

According to Yoder, the two revealed the book’s contents online during a live reading.

“Some people have an abortion,” they read their book in a video clip played by Pro-Life Weekly on June 26. “An abortion is when someone decides to stop growing their pregnancy. There are many different ways that people who are pregnant can have an abortion. Some people see a doctor who does a special procedure to remove the pregnancy from inside a person’s body. Other people take medicine to stop the pregnancy from growing bigger.”

They are working a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, and they plan to distribute “What’s an Abortion, Anyway?”by the fall. “A version in Spanish will also be available,” Yoder adds.

Yoder quotes Pro-Life Weekly host Catherine Hadro who described the book as “full of abortion propaganda and deception.”

“It denies scientific reality using the euphemism ‘a pregnancy’ for an unborn baby and calling mothers ‘people who are pregnant,’ as the book’s creators believe any gender can get pregnant and have an abortion,” she explained.

But, she added, “euphemisms and colorful illustrations cannot mask the ugly reality of what an abortion is: The intentional killing of a young, small, vulnerable human being.”
