Immediate Action Needed: Contact Representative to Support Override of Kansas Governor Kelly’s Veto of SB 355

by | Feb 9, 2022

On Tuesday, February 8, the Kansas Senate voted 27-11 to override Governor Kelly’s veto of the U.S. Congressional redistricting map (SB 355). For information on the impact of legislative redistricting on life issues, please see our previous action alert here.

KFL will be sending a rundown of the redistricting debate of the last 36 hours soon!

Now, the Kansas House of Representatives has the opportunity to vote to override the governor’s veto, perhaps as soon as Wednesday, February 9.

Congressional redistricting is important to the pro-life movement because the abortion industry’s allies in Congress are committed to repealing the Hyde Amendment, which for over 40 years has protected federal taxpayer dollars from directly funding abortion. Election integrity has been a key to advancing life-affirming policies

Governor Kelly vetoed SB 355 in an apparent attempt to gerrymander seats to impact congressional districts.

Please click below to contact your state representative and urge him or her to support the motion to override of the governor’s veto of SB 355.
