Fact 30 of 40 Weeks 40 Facts

by | Mar 21, 2022

Fact #30 already?! Week 30: The baby is fully developed by this point, measuring at about 39 cm or 3 lbs (think of iceberg lettuce)! There is about a pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby, but it will shrink as they get bigger and take up more room. They might even start to move their head downward and into the “ready” position.

The digestive tract will soon be ready for mouth feeding after birth by this point. Bone marrow is starting to produce red blood cells, and the brain is starting to look more like an adult’s. It will develop grooves/ridges/wrinkles to provide more space for the brain to continue to grow. #40weeks40facts
