TALLAHASSEE, FL – In a strictly party line vote the Senate passed CS/HB 5 ending abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy except for severe fetal anomaly with a two-doctor certification. The Bill goes to the Governor’s desk for his signature.

“I watched late last night as Senate Sponsor Kelli Stargel passionately defended the bill stating how honored she is to be in the position to promote and pass this life saving legislation stating ‘GOD is good’ said Lynda Bell, President of Florida Right to Life.

“Floridians want barbaric late-term abortions stopped in Florida” stated Bell. “I honor and commend Senator Stargel and Representative Grall for their ongoing and tireless advocacy for pre-born babies and their mothers.”

Florida State Rep. Erin Grall

Data shows that Floridians are against late-term abortions. A 2021 Gallup Poll found that while 47% of Americans find abortion acceptable that number drops to 34% in the second trimester and only 19% in the third trimester.

The U.S. is only one of 7 countries in the world that allows babies killed in all 9 months of pregnancy. “How appalling that we are right there alongside China and North Korea in allowing barbaric late term abortion procedures” stated Bell.
