With Roe v. Wade’s reversal, state pro-life group experienced upsurge in the numbers of students contacting them for information and elucidation

I will never forget a gentleman named Mat (yes, that’s how he spelled his name) who was dedicated to the operation of a local pro-life chapter in his area.

He was so committed to the cause that, even when felled by ill health, he continued to reach out to his community with a positive pro-life message.

I often liked to say that I believed that the tragic 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision known as Roe v. Wade would be overturned in our lifetime. Sadly, Mat did not live to see the demise of Roe, and his chapter died out not long after he left this earth.

But that chapter is being resurrected with the help of a new group of enthusiastic pro-life advocates. Motivated by the presence of an abortion facility in their community, they are determined to educate and energize their friends and neighbors.

They come from all different backgrounds, ethnicities, and walks of life. They also span different generations. But they are united in their vision of an abortion-free county.

It has been gratifying to see the level of interest in the pro-life cause since the issuance of the Dobbs decision in June. We have seen an uptick in the numbers of people wanting to get involved—or more involved—in the cause of life.

We have also experienced an upsurge in the numbers of students contacting us for information and elucidation. They are energetic and deeply convinced of the rightness of the pro-life cause.

This past week, two demonstrations occurred at the state Capitol in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. One, which was pro-life, attracted more than 5,000 people by official state estimates. The other, a pro-abortion rally, brought only a few dozen people to Harrisburg. The side-by-side photos of the two events were startling and show quite clearly that the pro-life side has momentum going into the midterm election.

We know that truth will win out in the end and that justice will prevail. And that means validation for the cause of life, which is anchored in truth and motivated by love.
